Day 184 - March 8, 2008

Who knew the trip back from Tampa would be so exciting. I went to the airport last night and after 4 hours of waiting for storms to clear learned that I was not going to get home after all. This had me concerned - not for staying another day in Tampa, but for the lack of running clothes. The clothes I had run in on Friday morning were neatly packed away in a plastic bag in the bottom of my carry on case. With the humidity in Tampa yesterday, they were pretty ripe and I really didn't want to have to pull them out.

Fortunately, I did finally make it back to VA by early afternoon and was able to get out for a short run. Being cramped in a plane all day and airport last night was not exactly conducive to a long run. I barely had the energy to finish the two miles I tried. But, I'm glad to b e back and getting out today should make tomorrow that much easier.

750 miles from home

Day 183 - March 7, 2008

Amazing what 750 miles will do for the weather. Yesterday in VA was cold and below freezing. Today, in Florida, it was 70 went I woke up and already 90% humidity. Add in a 20 mph wind and it was interesting running weather. One thing I like about running in Florida is the lack of hills. It is pretty easy to lock in a pace and just maintain.

These quick trips make it pretty tough to schedule a run. With the airlines needing you at the airport 2 hours ahead of time so that you can spend the day with them when your flight is 2 hours late really takes a chunk out of the day. But I worked them in and another hurdle down on the quest for 1000 days.

Day: 183 Time/Date: 7:20 AM 3/7/2008 Weather: Cloudy, Windy, 70F
Run: Wesley Chapel Miles: 4.8 Time: 34:33 Pace: 7:12 min/mile
Miles to Date: 653.2 Total Running Time: 79:56:30

Not much rest between runs

Day 182 - March 6, 2008

ZZZZZZZZZZZ - not sure I even woke up for this run. I was pretty slow today and never really loosened up from last night's run. The colder temperature sure didn't help after the nice days on Monday and Tuesday.

Tomorrow's run has some potential to be great - we'll see how today's travel affects me.

Day: 182 Time/Date: 7:00 AM 3/6/2008 Weather: Clear, 27F
Run: N Carnation-Davis Miles: 3.6 Time: 27:50 Pace: 7:44 min/mile
